ASSISTANCE LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS THROUGH COMMUNITY PROGRAMS.

OPERATION SCHOOL BELL PROVIDES NEW CLOTHING AND SHOES TO ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE BELLINGHAM AND WHATCOM COUNTY AREA. UNDER OPERATION SCHOOL BELL IS THE TEEN TEAM PROGRAM, A VOUCHER SYSTEM FOR HOMELESS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO PURCHASE CLOTHING AND SHOES AS WELL AS BOOKS AND BEYOND, A PROMOTION OF LITERACY PROGRAMS. 2133 STUDENTS WERE PROVIDED WITH ITEMS DURING THE YEAR.


ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO QUALIFYING YOUTH IN THE BELLINGHAM AND WHATCOM COUNTY AREA ON A YEARLY BASIS. 72 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED DURING THE YEAR.


HOSPITAL PATIENT SERVICES PROVIDES CLOTHING TO ASSAULT AND TRAUMA VICTIMS RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL. 300 PATIENTS RECEIVED EMERGENCY CLOTHING.


CARE CENTER SUPPORT PROVIDES HOLIDAY GIFTS FOR RESIDENTS IN LOCAL NURSING HOMES. 173 CARE CENTER RESIDENTS WERE REMEMBERED WITH GIFTS. EATING HEALTHY PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS TO ENCOURAGE GROWING & EATING ORGANIC FRUITS & VEGETABLES.
