DRILLING- DRILLED AND COMPLETED 26 WELLS, PROVIDING CLEAN WATER TO MORE THAN 96,000 PEOPLE IN THE REMOTE DISTRICT OF LIWALE. THIS REDUCED THE BURDEN (TIME AND WORKLOAD) ON WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF THE DAILY REQUIREMENT OF OBTAINING WATER.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT- WE ARE NOW CONSISTENTLY PRODUCING UP TO 650 FRY PER WEEK AND HARVESTING MORE THAN 3 TONS OF TILAPIA EACH YEAR. IN ADDITION, WE ALSO PROVIDE EDUCATION AID TO STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN THE AREA. THIS INCLUDES PROVIDING BOOKS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND GUTTERS FOR RAINWATER. WE ALSO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS WANTING TO ATTEND TRADE SCHOOL OR COLLEGE. POLIO HAS BECOME AN ISSUE AGAIN IN TANZANIA, SO GO DRILL HAS BEEN PROVIDING MUCH-NEEDED LOGISTICS FOR EXTREMELY REMOTE AREAS OF LIWALE.
PUMP REPAIR- REFURBISHED 9 AGING WELLS WITH NEW PUMP SYSTEMS. IN ADDITION, WE PERFORMED 63 OTHER REPAIR JOBS TO WELLS IN THE AREA.
AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - TRAIN LOCAL FARMERS IN ECONOMICAL AND SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE CROP PRODUCTION AND YIELD. PLANTED A FIELD FOR DEMONSTRATION AND TRAINING. PLANTED TREES THAT HAVE MULTIPLE USES AND AID IN FIGHTING EROSION BY KEEPING SOILS STABLE AND IN PLACE.
