THE RENO RODEO FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING GRANTS TO NORTHERN NEVADA NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO SUPPORT THEIR PROGRAMS, CHOOSING A CHILD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS TO RECEIVE A RODEO WISH TO EHANCE THE QUALITY OF HIS/HER LIFE, SPONSORING VARIOUS PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE DENIM DRIVE AND PROVIDING TEDDY BEARS TO CLOTHE AND COMFORT FOSTER CHILDREN AND CHILDREN IN PROTECTIVE CUSTODY. THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES COMFORT BY SUPPLYING NEW BOOKS AND READING ROOMS FOR CHILDREN ATTENDING FAMILY COURT PROCEEDINGS.
THE FOUNDATION FUNDS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH A COMMITTEE THAT REVIEWS AND SCORES APPLICATIONS AND MAKES RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD. SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO 37 STUDENTS ATTENDING A NEVADA COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY. SCHOLARSHIPS MAY BE AWARDED FOR OUT-OF-STATE SCHOOLS WHEN THE STUDENTS DEGREE PROGRAM IS NOT OFFERED IN NEVADA.
