OMAHA DOCUMENTERS TRAINS AND PAYS LOCAL RESIDENTS TO ATTEND AND ANNOTATE GOVERNMENT MEETINGS, TURNING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE, RELATIONSHIPS, AND CAPACITY OF RESIDENTS INTO A POWERFUL COMMUNITY INFORMATION RESOURCE.OMAHA DOCUMENTERS IS BUILDING A NETWORK OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND CITIZEN JOURNALISTS, FROM EVERY ZIP CODE IN OUR COMMUNITY, TO DOCUMENT THESE MEETINGS THROUGH DETAILED NOTE TAKING, LIVE-TWEETING, AND ULTIMATELY, REVIEWING LOCAL GOVERNMENT DATA AND RECORDS. ALLEN AND MARK MCGAUGH NOW STREAM THEIR NEWS TALK PROGRAM THREE DAYS A WEEK, FEATURING NEWS CURATION AND LOCAL NEWS MAKING GUESTS, ENGAGING HUNDREDS AND REACHING THOUSANDS.
REPORT FOR AMERICA (RFA) IS A NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAM THAT PLACES JOURNALISTS INTO LOCAL NEWSROOMS TO REPORT UNDER-COVERED ISSUES AND COMMUNITIES.
