EXPENSES FOR INSTRUCTION IN CREATIVE ARTS ENRICHMENT. B.E.A.R. PROVIDED INSTRUCTION IN CREATIVE ARTS ENRICHMENT BY PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS TO MORE THAN 2,000 K12 YOUTH ACROSS SEVEN SCHOOLS DURING THE SUMMER AND FALL MONTHS OF 2022. CREATIVE CLASSES INCLUDED SALSA DANCE, CONTEMPORARY DANCE, AFRICAN DANCE AND DRUMMING, LATIN PERCUSSION, GRAPHIC DESIGN, DRAWING, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, PHOTOGRAPHY, SINGING, AND YOGA. MORE THAN 90% OF STUDENTS SERVED ARE CLASSIFIED BY THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AS SOCIOECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED. SOME STUDENTS HAVE DISABILITIES AND SOME ARE ENGLISH LEARNERS; ALL LIVE IN SOME OF THE MOST IMPOVERISHED NEIGHBORHOODS IN LOS ANGELES.

EXPENSES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF THE NONPROFIT AND DELIVERY OF PROGRAM SERVICES. IN THE FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION, THE PRESIDENT & CEO WAS COMPENSATED AS A CONTRACTOR AND UNDERTOOK ALL DUTIES RELATED TO DELIVERING AGAINST THE MISSION, INCLUDING RECRUITING AND VETTING PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS TO PROVIDE INSTRUCTION, MEETING WITH K12 SCHOOL PARTNERS AND DESIGNING CUSTOM ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FOR THEIR STUDENTS, PURCHASING AND MANAGING THE INVENTORY OF ALL PROGRAM SUPPLIES, AND SUPERVISING ALL NONPROFIT PROGRAM ACTIVITIES. THIS EXPENSE HELPED B.E.A.R. DELIVER CREATIVE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS TO K12 YOUTH IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION.
