THE POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAM ALLOWS INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES, AND OTHER NON-PROFIT ENTITIES TO MAKE GRANTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS GRADUATING FROM BLACKHAWK SCHOOL DISTRICT WHO ARE PURSUING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION AT A TRADE OR TECHNICAL SCHOOL, TWO-YEAR COLLEGES, FOUR-YEAR COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITIES, OR OTHER APPROVED POST-SECONDARY PROGRAMS. INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA ARE ESTABLISHED BY DONORS WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE ORGANIZATION, IN WHICH IT RELIES ON INPUT FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IN SELECTING APPLICANTS. DURING THE 2022 FISCAL YEAR, THE FOUNDATION WAS AUTHORIZED BY DONORS TO AWARD FOUR (4) AWARDS THAT WERE AWARDED TO THREE (3) STUDENTS FOR A TOTAL OF $4,000.
FUNDS ALLOCATED TO EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM BY THE ORGANIZATION ARE USED TO SUPPORT TEACHERS AND STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE BLACKHAWK SCHOOL DISTRICT. THIS PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE FUNDING FOR FIELD TRIPS, IN CLASSROOM PROGRAMMING, EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS, AND OTHER ITEMS IN LINE WITH THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION, SUBJECT TO THE REQUIRED APPROVALS OF THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION. THERE WAS NO REVENUE COLLECTED FOR THIS PROGRAM DURING THE 2022 FISCAL YEAR. EXPENSES OUTLINED ABOVE ARE RELATED TO CONSULTING SERVICE FEES TO ASSIST IN SETTING UP THE PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCESS TO LAUNCH IN THE 2023 FISCAL YEAR.
THE ASSET IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ALLOCATES FUNDS IN CONSULTATION WITH THE BLACKHAWK SCHOOL DISTRICT. ALL PURCHASES FUNDED BY THE ORGANIZATION WILL BECOME PROPERTY OF THE DISTRICT. THERE WAS NO ACTIVITY DURING THE 2022 FISCAL YEAR FOR THIS PROGRAM AS THE FOUNDATION AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAVE CHOSEN AT THIS TIME TO FOCUS EFFORTS ON LAUNCHING THE SCHOLARSHIP AND EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS.
