GSIS AFRICAN ANTIVENOM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IS A GRANT-FUNDED TWO YEAR RESEARCH AND IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT TO IMPROVE THE POTENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF CURRENT ANTIVENOMS ON THE MARKET IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA.
GSI, THROUGH A ONE-TIME RESEARCH GRANT, CONDUCTED HEALTH ECONOMICS RESEARCH ON THE COST OF ANTIVENOMS AND ASSOCIATED TREATMENT, AMONG OTHER FACTORS IN WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICAN COUNTRIES, TO INFORM PROGRAMMATIC STRATEGIES FOR THE NEAR-TERM DEPLOYMENT AND STOCKPILING OF LIFE-SAVING ANTIVENOM IN THIS REGION.
