THE MISSION OF ART ACCESS IS TO BUILD A DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE ARTS COMMUNITY IN UTAH THROUGH CREATIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, AND OTHER MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES, AND THROUGH PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT IN THE ARTS.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES PROGRAMMING IN THREE MAJOR AREAS: ACCESSIBILITY EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY, PARTNERS PROGRAM FOR EMERGING ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES, AND WORKSHOP. THROUGH THE ACCESSIBILITY EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY PROGRAM, ART ACCESS DEVELOPS AND CONDUCTS TRAINING AND CONSULTATIONS FOR CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS IN UTAH, AND FOR TEACHING ARTISTS AND ART TEACHERS. THROUGH ITS PARTNERS PROGRAM FOR EMERGING ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES, THE ORGANIZATION PAIRS EMERGING ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES WITH STIPEND TEACHING ARTISTS IN THEIR DISCIPLINE FOR A YEAR-LONG PARTNERSHIP THAT ENDS IN A SIDE-BY-SIDE EXHIBITION. SUPPLEMENTALLY, WORKSHOPS ON VARIOUS PROFESSIONAL SKILLS ARE HOSTED FOR THESE ARTISTS AND ANY OTHER EMERGING ARTISTS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO MIGHT BENEFIT. THROUGH WORKSHOPS, THE ORGANIZATION PRESENTS PUBLIC WORKSHOPS ON DIFFERENT DISABILITY JUSTICE AND ACCESSIBILITY TOPICS INCLUDING,DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY, UNDERSTANDING DISABILITY, AND THE INTERSECTION OF DISABILITY AND RACISM.
