FOUNDED IN 1984, ART ACCESS BUILDS AN INCLUSIVE AND DIVERSE ARTS COMMUNITY IN UTAH THROUGH CREATIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES, AND THROUGH PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT IN THE ARTS. IT EMBRACES THE IDEA THAT ARTS PROVIDE THE PERFECT MEANS FOR PEOPLE TO TELL THEIR STORIES, ARTICULATE THEIR IDENTITIES, AND TO EDUCATE A GREAT NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS FOR THE COMMON GOOD.

PROGRAMS INCLUDE ART THERAPY FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, ADULTS/CHILDREN WITH EPILEPSY, AND HOMELESS ADULTS. PROVIDE ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT FOR VETERANS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THORUGH INTEGRATED ARTIST RESIDENCIES FOR CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS, OUR PARTNERS ARTIST MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, AND COMMUNITY BASED AND IN-HOUSE WORKSHOPS. REACH THE PUBLIC THROUGH TWO GALLERIES AND THE BREAKING BARRIERS ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT.
