Part 3 - Line 4a

THE READY 2 WORK PROGRAM PROMOTES EQUITABLE ACCESS AND RETENTION FOR BLACK WORKERS, ENSURING THEY ARE EMPLOYED IN QUALITY CAREERS, FREE FROM DISCRIMINATION, AND GIVEN LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. WE ACHIEVE THIS BY ADVOCATING FOR EQUITABLE POLICIES AND MEANINGFUL DIRECT PLACEMENTS. OUR PROGRAM PREPARES BLACK WORKERS FOR HIGH-ROAD CAREER OPPORTUNITIES BY PARTNERING WITH UNIONS AND EMPLOYERS. BUT OUR COMMITMENT CONTINUES BEYOND THERE. WE OFFER A ROBUST SUPPORT SYSTEM, INCLUDING INDUSTRY MENTORSHIP, PEER SUPPORT GROUPS, AND OCCUPATIONAL COACHING. THIS COMPREHENSIVE NETWORK IS DESIGNED TO HELP PARTICIPANTS NAVIGATE WORK/LIFE CHALLENGES AND TROUBLESHOOT PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE DURING EMPLOYMENT.

THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BLACK WORKER HUB FOR REGIONAL ORGANIZING ADVOCATES FOR THE ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF BLACK WORKERS THROUGHOUT THE REGION. WE DO THAT BY SUPPORTING BLACK WORKER CENTERS IN LOS ANGELES, THE INLAND EMPIRE AND SAN DIEGO AS THEY FIGHT FOR ECONOMIC INCLUSION AND OPPORTUNITY FOR THE REGION'S BLACK WORKERS. A 2024 WORKSAFE HEALTH & SAFETY AWARD RECIPIENT, THE HUB HAS CONTACTED THOUSANDS OF BLACK WORKERS TO SHARE LIFE SAVING OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION.

THE LOS ANGELES BLACK WORKER CENTER DEVELOPS ORGANIZED POWER AND AUTHENTIC GRASSROOTS LEADERSHIP AMONG BLACK WORKERS (UNIONIZED, NON-UNION, IMMIGRANT, FORMERLY INCARCERATED AND THE UNEMPLOYED) AND AMONG THE EXTENDED COMMUNITY, TO REVERSE THE DISPROPORTIONATE LEVELS OF UNEMPLOYMENT AND UNDEREMPLOYMENT IN THE LOS ANGELES BLACK COMMUNITY. THE CENTER SEEKS PEACE AND PROSPERITY FOR ALL OF LOS ANGELES BY DEVELOPING POLICIES AND CORPORATE PRACTICES THAT PERPETUATE EQUITY IN THE LABOR MARKET AND END INFERIOR JOBS IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
