SAFE SHELTER - THE LIFE HOUSE PROVIDES HOMELESS SINGLE WOMEN AND HOMELESS WOMEN WITH CHILDREN SAFE SHELTER BY PROVIDING ON SITE SECURITY AT BOTH LOCATIONS KEEPING SHELTER UP TO DATE WITH PROPERTY MAINTENANCE AND PROVIDING BASIC UTILITIES. WHEN THE SHELTERS ARE AT FULL CAPACITY THE LIFE HOUSE ALSO USES HOTEL VOUCHERS TO KEEP HOMELESS WOMAN AND THEIR CHILDREN OUT OF THE ELEMENTS AND IN SAFE SHELTER. AS OF DECEMBER 2021: - 60 WOMEN AND 10 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN SHELTERED - 36 WOMEN HAS BEEN SHELTERED AT THE COTTAGE FOR A TOTAL OF 433 STAYS OVERFLOW SHELTER - 28 WOMEN AND 16 CHILDREN HAVE RECEIVED HOTEL VOUCHERS - 10 WOMEN HAVE MOVED INTO RENTAL PROPERTIES
CASE MANAGEMENT CLIENT CARE - WHEN PROVIDING SHELTER AND CASE MANAGEMENT THE LIFE HOUSE IS STARTING OUT WOMEN ON THE CONTINUUM OF CARE FOR HOMELESS WOMEN. UPON INTAKE THE WOMEN BEGIN A 30-60-90 DAY PLAN THAT INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: ACQUIRING AN ID AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD WHERE NEEDED GETTING MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ASSESSMENTS WHEN NEEDED OBTAINING THEIR GED OR ADDITIONAL EDUCATION COMPLETING A RESUME AND JOB APPLICATIONS SECURING EMPLOYMENT SAVING MONEY AND RESEARCHING AND APPLYING FOR HOUSING. TO HELP WOMEN MOVE ALONG THE CONTINUUM WE HELP TO PREVENT BARRIERS INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION EMERGENCY NEEDS TIRES ON CAR DAYCARE SUPPLIES ETC. AND FEE ASSISTANCE ALONG THEIR PAY TO BECOMING HOUSED. AS OF DECEMBER 2021: - 56 WOMEN AND 9 CHILDREN HAVE RECEIVED MEDICAL CARE THROUGH REFERRALS 45 WOMEN HAVE TAKEN PART IN COUNSELING THROUGH REFERRALS 27 WOMEN SECURED EMPLOYMENT 11 WOMEN UPDATED RESUMES 2 CHILDREN STARTED DAYCARE WITH ABC VOUCHERS 2 CHILDREN HAVE BEEN ENROLLED IN ROCK HILL SCHOOL
MEALS - THE LIFE HOUSE WORKS TO ENSURE THAT WOMEN HAVE THREE MEALS PER DAY. THIS IS DONE THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH TWO SOUP KITCHENS IN TOWN A FOOD PANTRY AGENCY AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS. WHEN THERE ARE GAPS OF COVERAGE FOR MEALS FOOD THE LIFE HOUSE HAS A BUDGET TO COVER THE NEED.
