Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
SAFE AND SECURE ELECTIONS- THE VOTER PROJECT FUND COMBATS EFFORTS TO DISENFRANCHISE AND INTIMIDATE VOTERS. ADDITIONALLY, THE VOTER PROJECT FUND CONDUCTS RESEARCH TO INFORM OUR PLANNING AND PROGRAMS TO ENSURE THAT EVERY PENNSYLVANIA VOTER, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HISTORICALLY DISENFRANCHISED, IS ABLE TO CAST A BALLOT IN A SAFE, SECURE, AND CONVENIENT WAY.
VBM- THE VOTER PROJECT FUND DESIGNED A FOCUSED VOTE BY MAIL RECRUITMENT PROGRAM IN 2022 THAT FOCUSED ON BIPOC, HISTORICALLY DISADVANTAGED AND LOW-PROPENSITY VOTERS.
VOTER EDUCATION-BEFORE 2020, PENNSYLVANIANS HAD NEVER VOTED EARLY OR BY MAIL WITHOUT AN EXCUSE IN A GENERAL ELECTION. WHILE SIGNING PEOPLE UP TO VOTE BY MAIL IS CRUCIAL, WE ALSO NEEDED TO MAKE SURE THEY KNEW HOW TO USE THESE NEW VOTING OPTIONS TO AVOID DISENFRANCHISEMENT. OUR VOTER EDUCATION EFFORTS HELP TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF VOTES THAT ARE INVALIDATED DUE TO THE DATE BALLOTS ARE RETURNED OR BALLOTS LACKING A SIGNATURE OR REQUIRED ENVELOPE.
