EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND HELP SESSIONS FOR FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN BORROWERS: MCCFW HOSTED SEVERAL INFORMATIONAL WEBINARS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYERS AND PROVIDED EMPLOYEES WITH ASSISTANCE IN COMPLETING APPLICATIONS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS (PSLF), INCOME-DRIVEN REPAYMENT (IDR), AND/OR CONSOLIDATION WHERE NECESSARY TO OBTAIN FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN BENEFITS. THESE OFFERINGS WERE PROVIDED TO PUBLIC SERVANTS FOR FREE WITH COSTS COVERED BY PHILANTHROPIC GRANTS FOR PRE-K THRU 12TH GRADE EDUCATORS IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY AND BALTIMORE CITY, MARYLAND. AS OF MAY 1, 2024, THE ORGANIZATION HAS HELPED PUBLIC SERVANTS GAIN APPROVAL FOR MORE THAN $17 MILLION IN LOAN FORGIVENESS THROUGH PSLF.
ANNUAL VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM FOR CAMPUS-BASED PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS: MCCFW HOSTS INDUSTRY EXPERTS AND CAMPUS PERSONNEL, MOSTLY FROM MARYLAND, TO LEARN, SHARE, AND GROW COLLEGIATE FINANCIAL WELLNESS INITIATIVES AS A PART OF A LARGER EFFORT TO INCREASE POSTSECONDARY STUDENT SUCCESS.
