IN 2022, CRFC COMPLETED THE GRANT-FUNDED FORT ROSS ROAD FUELS REDUCTION PROJECT: CLEARING THE WAY FOR A SAFE EVACUATION. THIS PROJECT REMOVED HAZARDOUS ROADSIDE FUELS ALONG 7 MILES OF FORT ROSS ROAD IN CAZADERO, THE MAIN EVACUATION ROUTE FOR HUNDREDS OF RESIDENTS IN MULTIPLE RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE COASTAL HILLS OF SONOMA COUNTY. THE PROJECT EXPENSE TOTAL WAS $442,946. IN 2022, CRFC ALSO LAUNCHED A COMMUNITY CHIPPER PROJECT, INITIATED BY THE GRANT-FUNDED PURCHASE OF A COMMERCIAL CHIPPER. THE PROJECT WAS ADDITIONALLY FUNDED BY $2,085 IN COMMUNITY-DONATED FUNDS, WHICH COVERED FUEL, OIL, MAINTENANCE, INSURANCE, OPERATION, AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT PURCHASES.
