Part 3

THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO PROVIDE INNER CITY TEENAGERS AN ALTERNATIVE TO GANG MEMBERSHIP, DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE, AND ABUSIVE FAMILY SITUATIONS. TEENS OF TOMORROW IS A PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS TEENS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN THE PROCESS OF BUSINESS, SALESMANSHIP, AND WORK ETHIC. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO HELP TEENS LEARN DEPENDABILITY, ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, AND DEVELOP MARKETABLE JOB SKILLS. THE ORGANIZATION WILL ACHIEVE ITS SPECIFIC PURPOSE BY PROVIDING SUPERVISED INSTRUCTION IN MARKETING, SALES, AND OTHER BUSINESS TECHNIQUES. THE PARTICIPANTS WILL THEN PROCEED TO SELL A PRODUCT (USUALLY PREMANUFACTURED AND PACKAGED FOOD ITEMS) DOOR TO DOOR AND RECEIVE COMPENSATION FROM THE ORGANIZATION FOR THEIR EFFORTS. THE TEEN WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ACCEPT DONATIONS CONNECTED WITH THEIR SALES, BUT RATHER TO DEVELOP THE WORK ETHIC OF SELF-ACHIEVEMENT AND COMPENSATION BY AN ORGANIZATION MUCH LIKE A FUTURE PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER.
