THE ST. FRANCIS HOUSE TEACHES THE YOUNG MEN, BY BOTH DISCUSSION AND EXAMPLE, ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF BREAKING THE CYCLE OF POVERTY IN THEIR LIVES. TO BECOME INDEPENDENT CITIZENS AND AN EXAMPLE TO THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. EVERY YOUNG MAN IS REQUIRED TO WORK AND TO MAINTAIN RESPONSIBLE ATTITUDE, AND BEHAVIOR LEARNING TO WORK TOGETHER AND TO ALSO SHARE IN THE MAINTENANCE OF THE HOUSE. DOMESTIC SKILLS, INCLUDING COOKING ARE LEARNED AND PERFORMED BY EACH PERSON. THE GOAL OF THE ST. FRANCIS HOUSE IS TO PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE AND PROVIDE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, TO BUILD SELF CONFIDENCE, AND WORKING SKILLS THAT THEY CAN TAKE INTO THE WORLD TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE AND RESPONSIBLE ADULTS. OVER 350 YOUNG MEN, OVER THE YEARS HAVE COME THROUGH THE ST. FRANCIS HOUSE DOORS. MANY HAVE FOUND RESPONSIBLE JOBS, MADE PEACE WITH THEIR FAMILIES, AND GONE BACK TO SCHOOL. A NUMBER OF THEM ARE NOW SUCCESSFUL IN BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WORK.
