BIRD CONSERVATION PLAN - AN EFFORT TO SUMMARIZE THE STATUS, CONSERVATION ISSUES, HABITAT NEEDS, AND THREATS TO BIRDS OF NV. ASSISTED CONSERVATION PLANNERS AND RESOURCE MANAGERS AROUND THE STATE USED THIS PLAN TO HELP INFORM AND ASSIST THEM IN THEIR PLANNING EFFORTS AND IN IMPLEMENTING EFFECTIVE ON-THE-GROUND CONSERVATION. LOWER COLORADO RIVER PROJECT: 4TH YEAR OF IMPLEMENTATION OF CONTRACT TO MONITOR BIRDS OF THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER IN LIGHT OF THE MULTI-SPECIES CONSERVATION PROGRAM IMPLEMENTED BY THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION. THE PURPOSE IS TO MONITOR POPULATION STATUS OF SEVERAL PROGRAM-COVERED SPECIES AND ALL OTHER LANDBIRDS BOTH ALONG THE RIVER IN RANDOMLY SELECTED PLOTS (LAKE MEAD TO SOUTHERN BORDER) AND IN TARGETED CONSERVATION AREAS WHERE CONSERVATION WORK IS HAPPENING. 2 FULL TIME STAFF AND 6 SEASONAL STAFF. NEVADA BIRD COUNT: THIS PROGRAM INCORPORATES SEVERAL FUNDED PROJECTS THAT, TOGETHER AIM TO MONITOR POPULATION STATUS OF ALL NEVADA LANDBIRDS, STATEWIDE. THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES 2 PERMANENT STAFF AND 6 SEASONAL STAFF. CRESCENT DUNES SOLAR FACILITY BIRD MONITORING: THIS PROGRAM MONITORS FATALITIES AND BIRD USE OF THE CRESCENT DUNES SOLAR FACILITY IN TONOPAH. EACH MONTH, 2 PERMANENT STAFF AND 1 SEASONAL STAFF MONITOR FOR MORTALITIES AND CONDUCT BIRD SURVEYS TO ASSESS THE OVERALL BIRD USE OF THE AREA OF THE FACILITY.
