DURING 2021, UNITED FUND OF GLOBE-MIAMI, INC. PROVIDED OPERATIONAL GRANT SUPPORT TO 90,233 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH 24 ORGANIZATIONS IN THE GLOBE-MIAMI COMMUNITY.OPERATIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS FALL INTO 5 PRIMARY FOCUS AREAS:A. BASIC NEEDS - FOOD SECURITY AND SAFE ENVIRONMENTSB. COVID-19 RELIEFC. SUPPORT FOR CHILD-RELATED ACTIVITIES/PROGRAMSD. ARTS, CULTURE, AND HISTORIC PRESERVATIONE. EDUCATION & LITERACYIN ADDITION TO THE ONGOING COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE GLOBE-MIAMI COMMUNITY EXPERIENCED THE TELEGRAPH FIRE IN JUNE OF 2021 WHICH CONSUMED 180,747 ACRES. THE UNITED FUND OF GLOBE-MIAMI, INC. PROVIDED A CONDUIT FOR DEMA (DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY AND MILITARY AFFAIRS) FUNDED EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR RESIDENTS' DOMESTIC ANIMALS AND LIVESTOCK WHO WERE EVACUATED BUT UNABLE TO BE ACCOMMODATED IN EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE.AFTER THE FIRE WAS RESOLVED, THE MONSOON RAINS CREATED NEAR APOCALYPTIC POST-FIRE FLOODING AS TORRENTS OF MUD AND WATER CAME DOWN FROM THE PINAL MOUNTAINS. THE UNITED FUND OF GLOBE-MIAMI, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS OBSERVED A GAP BETWEEN COMMUNITY NEEDS AND AVAILABLE FEDERAL, STATE AND COUNTY RESOURCES. IN COLLABORATION WITH DONORS WHICH DONATED IN AMOUNTS FROM $1 TO $50,000, A TOTAL OF $315,769 WAS RAISED IN FLOOD RELIEF. THE FUNDS ARE BEING ADMINISTERED BY THE SOUTHWEST EMERGENCY RESPONSE UNIT OF THE SALVATION ARMY.FURTHER: THE UNITED FUND OF GLOBE-MIAMI, INC. AGREED TO SERVE AS THE FISCAL AGENT FOR DONOR DESIGNATED FUDING AGREEMENTS BETWEEN BHP AND THE CITY OF GLOBE AS WELL AS FOR THE DYLAN EARVEN FOUNDATION.
