IN 2022, UNITED FUND OF GLOBE-MIAMI, INC. PROVIDED $492,167 IN GRANT FUNDS TO 21 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SERVING THE GLOBE-MIAMI COMMUNITY. THE TOTAL IMPACT OF THOSE DOLLARS WAS 88,164 INDIVIDUALS.OPERATIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAMS FALL INTO 5 PRIMARY FOCUS AREAS:SUPPORT FOR CHILD-RELATED ACTIVITIES/PROGRAMSA. ACTIVE YOUTH - SUPPORT FOR CHILD-RELATED ACTIVITIES/PROGRAMSB. BASIC NEEDS - FOOD SECURITYC. EDUCATION & LITERACYD. HEALTH, WELLNESS & SAFETYE. STRONG COMMUNITIESACTIVE YOUTH AGENCIES SUPPORTING YOUTH RELATED ACTIVITIES/PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO HAVE REDUCED PARTICIPATION IN AT-RISK BEHAVIORS, BETTER ATTENDANCE AND PERFORMANCE AT SCHOOL, AND BETTER LONG-TERM OUTCOMES. ACTIVE YOUTH AGENCIES SERVED 6,906 INDIVIDUALS.BECAUSE THE GLOBE-MIAMI COMMUNITY EXPERIENCES SIGNIFICANT FOOD INSECURITY, THE GILA COMMUNITY FOODBANK SERVED 22,323 INDIVIDUALS. ADDITIONAL FOOD SECURITY PROGRAMS OFFERED BY ST. VINCENT'S OF HOLY ANGELS SERVED AN ADDITIONAL 1,842 INDIVIDUALS.EDUCATION AND LITERACY ARE COMMUNITY NEEDS, ALL LOCAL SCHOOLS ARE TITLE 1 SCHOOLS, TO SUPPORT THOSE NEEDS, UNITED FUND AGENCIES IN 2022 IMPACTED 17,996 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH PROGRAMS OFFERED BY FRIENDS OF THE GLOBE PUBLIC LIBRARY, FRIENDS OF THE MIAMI MEMORIAL LIBRARY, AND WITH SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE UNDER THE AUSPICES OF PINAL MOUNTAIN FOUNDATION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION.HEALTH, WELLNESS, AND SAFETY NEEDS VARY IN OUR COMMUNITY. AS SUCH, UFGM SUPPORTS A VARIETY OF AGENCIES INCLUDING: HORIZON HEALTH & WELLNESS, HIGH DESERT HUMANE SOCIETY, GILA AGING (THROUGH PINAL GILA COUNCIL FOR SENIOR CITIZENS), COPPER BASIN COALITION, ARIZONA YOUTH PARTNERSHIP, GILA HOUSE, AND PINAL MOUNTAIN LIONS FOUNDATION. THE 17,908 INDIVIDUALS POSITIVELY IMPACTED BY THESE PROGRAMS RECEIVE SERVICES RANGING FROM NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT FOR PETS, VISION SCREENINGS, SUMMER CAMP FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED INDIVIDUALS, 90 DAY TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY DISASTERS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SAFE HOME SERVICES, FAMILY EDUCATION, DRUG PREVENTION, AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS EDUCATION.STRONG COMMUNITIES ARE SHOWN TO BE MORE RESILIENT IN ENDURING DIFFICULTIES. OUR COMMUNITIES HAVE ENDURED FOREST FIRES AND POST-FIRE FLOODING IN ADDITION TO THE WORLD-WIDE ECONOMIC INFLATION AND COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
