EL MOVIMIENTO SIGUE HELD ITS 53RD ANNUAL CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION FOR THE PUEBLO, COLORADO COMMUNITY. ALONG WITH THE CELEBRATION, A FOOD GIVE AWAY WAS HELD FOR 126 FAMILIES, AN ANNUAL CAR SHOW, AND CAR CRUISE THROUGHOUT THE CITY. THERE WERE OVER 40 VENDORS, 4 FOOD TRUCKS, CULTURAL ENTERTAINMENT, TESTIMONIALS, AND A PRESS CONFERENCE ANNOUNCING OUR WORK FOR THE TRANSFORMING JUSTICE INITIATIVE. THERE WERE OVER 3200 PEOPLE WHO ATTENDED THE EVENT. EMS PUBLISHED THREE LA CUCARACHA NEWSPAPERS; OCTOBER, FEBRUARY, MAY. 7000 ISSUES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO PUEBLO COUNTY AND NEIGHBORING COUNTIES. THE DIGITAL LA CUCARACHA WAS SENT OUT THROUGH EMS NETWORKS AND SOCIAL MEDIA. QR CODES WERE ALSO SENT OUT AND PUT IN DISTRIBUTION AREAS. HUNDREDS MORE PEOPLE ACCESSED THE LA CUCARACHA IN ITS DIGITAL FORMAT. EMS ALSO CONTINUES WORK ON THE TRANSFORMING JUSTICE INITIATIVE BY WORKING ON A BAIL FUND AND MANDATES. TWO COMMITTEES COMPLETED THE PLANNING STAGE OF TJ. THEY MOVED INTO THE SECOND PHASE OF IMPLEMENTATION TO LOWER INCARCERATION RATES. IN EACH OF THE LAST TWO LA CUCARACHA NEWSPAPERS THERE WERE FOUR PAGES DEDICATED TO SPREADING THE INFORMATION OF OUR TJ WORK.
