THE MISSION OF THE CENTER FOR LEGAL INCLUSIVENESS (CLI) IS TO ADVANCE DIVERSITY IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION BY ACTIVELY EDUCATING AND SUPPORTING PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR LEGAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THEIR INDIVIDUAL CAMPAIGNS TO CREATE CULTURES OF INCLUSION.

IN 2023, APPROXIMATELY 224 LAWYERS, JUDGES, AND OTHER LEGAL PROFESSIONALS ATTENDED THE BALL FOR ALL SPONSORSHIP. THE LEGAL COMMUNITY CAME TOGETHER TO RAISE MONEY FOR CLI TO HELP US IN LEADING THE WAY TO CREATING A MORE DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE LEGAL PROFESSION BY INTRODUCING STUDENTS TO THE LEGAL PIPELINE, SUPPORT RECRUITMENT EFFORTS, AND PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES AND EDUCATION FOR BOTH EMPLOYERS AND LEGAL PROFESSIONALS TO INCREASE RETENTION AND ADVANCEMENT OF THOSE UNDERREPRESENTED IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION.


APPROXIMATELY 30 LAWYERS, JUDGES, AND OTHER LEGAL PROFESSIONALS ATTENDED CLI'S AUGUST 2023, LEGAL INCLUSIVENESS & DIVERSITY SUMMIT IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY. THE EVENT FEATURED PROMINENT NATIONAL AND LOCAL SPEAKERS IN MULTIPLE WORKSHOPS. CLI THANKS ALL THOSE WHO MADE THE SUMMIT A SUCCESS, INCLUDING CONFERENCE SPONSORS, ATTENDEES, PRESENTERS AND VOLUNTEERS.


IN 2023, CLI AWARDED 3 DIVERSITY BAR EXAM SCHOLARSHIPS PLUS PREP COURSE AND 4 LIVING EXPENSES SCHOLARSHIPS TO CU AND DU LAW GRADUATES TO COVER THE COST OF THE BAR EXAM AND REVIEW COURSE, AND LIVING EXPENSES, RESPECTIVELY. THE PROGRAM NOW IN ITS 13TH YEAR HELPED UNDERREPRESENTED LAW STUDENTS AFFORD TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS THE COLORADO BAR.
