THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VOCA ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATORS' MISSION IS TO ADVANCE EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND PUBLIC SERVICE TO ASSURE ACCESSIBLE QUALITY SERVICES FOR CRIME VICTIMS NATIONWIDE, TO STRENGTHEN EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION AMONG ITS MEMBERS, AND TO PROVIDE ITS MEMBERS WITH TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO EFFECTIVELY RESPOND TO THE ISSUES AND CHALLENGES OF SUPPORTING THOSE SERVICES.

IN COOPERATION WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICE FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME, THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VOCA ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATORS MANAGED THE NATIONAL CRIME VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK COMMUNITY AWARENESS PROJECTS IN 2021. THIS PROJECT FUNDED A TOTAL OF 95 LOCAL PROJECTS TO ENHANCE VICTIMS' RIGHTS AND SERVICES. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PLANNED AND ORGANIZED THE 2021 NATIONAL VOCA TRAINING CONFERENCE FOR STATE VOCA VICTIM ASSISTANCE AND STATE CRIME VICTIM COMPENSATION PROGRAMS HELD IN SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PROMOTED RESOURCES TO SUSTAIN AND EXPAND DIRECT SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF CRIME AND PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ITS MEMBERS, INCLUDING RECENT CHALLENGES INVOLVING A LARGE INCREASE IN FEDERAL FUNDING FOR STATE VOCA ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS, NEW DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS, AND NEW REGULATIONS.
