Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
IN 2021, WE INITIATED AND EXPANDED A COUPLE OF NEW PROGRAMS AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC. RESPONDING TO INCREASED USAGE ON OUR TRAILS AND IN OUR PARKS AND OPEN SPACES, WE CONTINUED TO TRAIN VOLUNTEER TRAIL AMBASSADORS TO PROVIDE USER INFORMATION ON OUR BUSIEST TRAILS IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE SAFETY INFORMATION AND PROTECT THE RESOURCE. WE TURNED OUR "GET OUT SPREAD OUT" PROGRAM INTO "GET OUT GET HEALTHY", AND USED OUR KNOWLEDGE OF PARKS AND TRAILS IN UNDERSERVED AREAS TO ASSIST MEDICAL PROVIDERS WHO PASSED INFORMATIVE PAMPHLETS ALONG TO CLIENTS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH. WE ALSO LED REGULAR WALKS TO SERVE PROVIDERS AND CLIENTS. WE INITIATED A PROGRAM TO IMPROVE SIGNAGE ALONG THE SAND CREEK TRAIL. PROGRESS ON OUR RING THE PEAK TRAIL INITIATIVE CONTINUES TO BE STYMIED BY THE USFS. BUT, WE DID CREATE AN ECONOMIC BENEFITS REPORT SHOWING THE VALUE COMPLETING THE TRAIL COULD BRING TO THE REGION. WE WIDELY SHARED PARKS RELATED VIDEOS AND OUR TOPS BRIEFING BOOK WITH THE COMMUNITY, HOPING IT WOULD LEAD TO A POSITIVE OUTCOME FOR THE TOPS PROGRAM. WHILE NOT SUCCESSFUL, THE RESULTING RELATIONSHIPS SHOULD ASSIST US WHEN WE RETURN TO VOTERS NEXT APRIL.
