PROGRESS GEORGIA OFFERED A KEY VOTER EDUCATION TOOL WITH THEGEORGIAVOTERGUIDE.COM. THIS TOOL WAS A KEY PART OF OUR PROGRAM GOAL TO INCREASE VOTER EDUCATION AND INFORMATION FOR THE ELECTION IN 2022 AND 2023. THE VOTER GUIDE HOUSED ALL PERTINENT, NEED-TO-KNOW INFORMATION ON TWO PORTIONS OF THE SITE: 1. THE VOTER INFORMATION HUB AND 2. THE CANDIDATE INFORMATION HUB. THE VOTER INFORMATION HUB PROVIDED KEY VOTING DATES, FAQS ON HOW TO VOTE, SPECIFIC INFORMATION ON POSSIBLE VOTING SCENARIOS AND HOW TO CHECK VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS. THE CANDIDATE INFORMATION HUB OFFERED INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT POSITIONS WERE ON THE BALLOT, INFORMATION ON CANDIDATES AND THEIR BACKGROUND, THEIR STANCES ON ISSUES, THEIR VOTING HISTORY AND ENDORSEMENTS.
ONE OF PROGRESS GEORGIAS GOALS IN 2023 WAS TO MORE DEEPLY UNDERSTAND GEORGIAS MEDIA LANDSCAPE AND IDENTIFY BETTER WAYS TO AMPLIFY THE ISSUES, STORIES, AND CONCERNS OF THE STATES MOST IMPACTED COMMUNITIES WITH THE GEORGIA TRUTH PROJECT. ADDITIONALLY, WITH THE CHANGING FACE OF NEWS AND THE RISE OF DIGITAL NEWS COVERAGE AND THE 24-HOUR NEWS CYCLE, RURAL COMMUNITIES THAT MORE HEAVILY RELY ON TRADITIONAL NEWS OUTLETS, WE WERE CURIOUS TO KNOW HOW BROADBAND COVERAGE IMPACTS NEWS CONSUMPTION.
PROGRESS GEORGIA WANTED TO ENSURE THAT VOTERS WERE WELL-EDUCATED ABOUT WHAT LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITIES OCCURRED DURING GEORGIAS LEGISLATIVE SESSION BY INCREASING OUR PARTNER SUPPORT AND PROGRAMS WE EXPANDED OUR COMMUNICATIONS REACH TO GEORGIANS SO THAT LEGISTATIVE ACTIVITIES ARE BETTER TO UNDERSTAND FOR ALL CONSUMERS OF OUR CONTENT.
