RENEW IS DEDICATED TO COMBATTING THE OVERLAPPING CRISES OF CLIMATE CHANGE, ECONOMIC INEQUALITY AND RACIAL INJUSTICE THROUGH DEEP COALITION BUILDING, REGIONAL POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING.

COALITION BUILDING: RNEA ASSEMBLED A TRULY UNPRECEDENTED MULTI-RACIAL, MULTI-ISSUE REGIONAL COALITION ACROSS THE SIX NEW ENGLAND STATES. THE COALITION - WHICH INCLUDES APPROXIMATELY 150 ORGANIZATIONS - BROUGHT TOGETHER FRONTLINE COMMUNITIES, INDIGENOUS TRIBES, LABOR UNIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE ADVOCATES, YOUTH GROUPS, RACIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS, ANTI-POVERTY AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCATES AND FOOD JUSTICE NETWORKS. THE COALITION IS LED BY A MAJORITY-BIPOC COUNCIL REPRESENTING ALL SIX STATES, AND COUNCIL MEMBERS FORMED RENEW COALITIONS IN EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE STATES, WHICH MIRROR THE INCLUSIVE COMPOSITION OF THE COUNCIL WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF FRONTLINE AND MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AT ALL LEVELS. POLICY AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: THE RNEA STATE COALITIONS COLLECTIVELY DEVELOPED A DETAILED, AMBITIOUS, TRULY INTERSECTIONAL POLICY VISION THAT SIMULTANEOUSLY ADDRESSES MASS UNEMPLOYMENT, RACIAL INJUSTICE AND THE CLIMATE CRISIS. OUR COLLABORATIVE PROCESS WAS DESIGNED TO BUILD TRUST AND ENSURE FULL ALIGNMENT AMONG COALITION MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS BY CENTERING THE NEEDS OF THE MOST IMPACTED COMMUNITIES AND BAKING IN EQUITY PROVISIONS FROM THE START.
