TRAINING COLLEGE STUDENTS IN CIVIC PARTICIPATION AND ADVOCACY SKILLS. PROGRAMS ARE DIRECTED BY THE STUDENTS OF THE PARTICIPATING NEW YORK STATE COLLEGES THAT ALLOCATE A PORTION OF THEIR STUDENT ACTIVITY FEES TO THE ORGANIZATION.

CAMPUS PROGRAM: EACH YEAR, STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN AND ORGANIZE ACTIVITIES THAT RANGE FROM NON-PARTISAN VOTER REGISTRATION, TO LOCAL SERVICE PROJECTS TO ASSIST COMMUNITIES IN NEED, TO COORDINATED STATEWIDE EFFORTS TO PROMOTE AND SAFEGUARD ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE PUBLIC EDUCATION. NYPIRG'S CAMPUS PROGRAM PROVIDED HUNDREDS OF PRESENTATIONS, FORUMS, EVENTS, SEMINARS, MEETINGS, AND WORKSHOPS TO THOUSANDS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS ACROSS NEW YORK. SUCH EFFORTS EDUCATED STUDENTS ABOUT HOW TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION SKILLS, PARTICIPATE IN POLICY DECISIONS, INCREASE AND IMPROVE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, ENGAGE A LARGE CROSS-SECTION OF THEIR CAMPUS AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES, CONDUCT RESEARCH, REACH OUT TO MEDIA, AND ORGANIZE THEIR CAMPUS COMMUNITIES.
