POTIONS & PIXELS IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT CREATES AND UTILIZES GAMES ART AND TECHNOLOGY FOR SOCIAL IMPACT.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM POTIONS & PIXELS CREATES UNIQUE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS TO TACKLE OUR COMMUNITY'S UPWARD MOBILITY CHALLENGES. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE HORNETS LOWE'S AND EIG ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS POTIONS & PIXELS CREATED A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN THE GRIER HEIGHTS COMMUNITY TO TEACH HIGH-DEMAND ELECTRICAL SKILLS AND LAUNCH WELL-PAID LONGTERM CAREERS IN ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION. ALL OF THE STUDENTS WERE GIVEN $15 PER HOUR STIPENDS FOR THE DURATION OF THE 3-MONTH PROGRAM. WE HOSTED CLASSES IN THE EVENING TO MAKE IT CONVENIENT FOR STUDENTS WITH WORK AND FAMILY OBLIGATIONS. WE PROVIDED DINNER AT EVERY CLASS. WE ALSO GAVE EVERY STUDENT A LAPTOP AND ALL THE TOOLS THEY WOULD NEED TO SUCCESSFULLY HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. STUDENTS LEARNED KEY ELECTRICAL SKILLS AND RECEIVED A VARIETY OF INDUSTRY CERTIFICATIONS. WE ALSO EMPHASIZED OTHER IMPORTANT SKILLS LIKE FINANCIAL LITERACY INTERVIEW SKILLS CPR FIRST AID ETC. DOES NOT INCLUDE STAFF COSTS.
TECH HUB EXPERIENCE APP WE CREATED AN AUGMENTED REALITY APP THAT ALLOWS USERS TO EXPLORE THE INSPIRATIONS AND ARTISTS BEHIND MURALS THROUGH THE POWER OF AUGMENTED REALITY. DOES NOT INCLUDE STAFF COSTS.
ARTCADE POTIONS & PIXELS BUILT AN 8-UNIT ARCADE FROM SCRATCH. EACH ARTCADE MACHINE FEATURES HAND PAINTED ARTWORK FROM OUR FAVORITE CHARLOTTE ARTISTS AND UNIQUE INDIE GAMES FROM OUR FAVORITE DEVELOPERS ACROSS THE GLOBE. EACH MACHINE STANDS AS ITS OWN ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF ART AND ALSO FEATURES A WIDE VARIETY OF INTERACTIVE GAMES. EACH ARTCADE MACHINE IS HAND-MADE AND HOUSES AROUND 10 CURATED INDIE GAMES ACCESSIBLE THROUGH OUR OWN CUSTOM GAME LAUNCHER. EACH MACHINE CONSISTS OF 3 DISPLAYS: THE MAIN DISPLAY FOR THE GAME A STRETCHED MARQUEE SCREEN AT THE TOP OF THE MACHINE TO SHOW THE MARQUEE GRAPHICS FOR THE GAMES AND A THIRD DISPLAY BELOW THE MAIN SCREEN THAT SHOWS SPECIFIC GAME CONTROLS. EACH MACHINE ALSO HAS RGB CONTROLS AND LIGHTING UNDERNEATH THAT CAN MATCH THE COLOR SCHEME OF THE SPECIFIC GAMES. DOES NOT INCLUDE STAFF COSTS.
