BAYVIEW S.O.L. IS A 501(C)(3) THAT WAS ESTABLISHED ON OCTOBER 31, 2019, TO BUILD A HEALING SPACE FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR TO FEEL SAFE, BENEFIT FROM, AND THRIVE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. AS PART OF THE HEALING SPACE, BAYVIEW SOL'S CURRENT MISSION IS TOOPEN SAN FRANCISCO'S FIRST BIRTHING CENTER FOR WOMEN OF COLOR IN BAYVIEW.PATRICIA RODRIGUEZ, CO-FOUNDER AND CEO OF BAYVIEW S.O.L., FORMED A BOARD OF SAN FRANCISCO NATIVES WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT AND STRIVE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE. SINCE NOVEMBER 2019, THE BOARD MEMBERS HAVE ACTIVELY FORMED THE FOUNDATION OF BAYVIEW S.O.L'S GOALS, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES IN PREPARATION OF BUILDING A BIRTH CENTER.WHEN THE PANDEMIC HIT IN 2020, BAYVIEW S.O.L. PIVOTED EFFORTS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. FOOD SECURITY WAS A HIGH PRIORITY FOR MANY YOUNG FAMILIES IN BAYVIEW AND WE PARTNERED WITH THE MISSION FOOD HUB TO PROVIDE GROCERY FOOD BOXES TO RESIDENTS OF DISTRICT 10. WITHOUT ANY OUTSIDE FUNDING, BAYVIEW S.O.L DELIVERED FOOD BOXES TO 30 FAMILIES ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR 2 YEARS. BUILDING ON THAT SUCCESS, BAYVIEW S.O.L. ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE SISTERWEB SF DOULA NETWORK TO DELIVER FOOD GROCERY BOXES TO TWENTY SISTERWEB CLIENTS ON A WEEKLY BASIS THROUGH JUNE 2022. THIS PARTNERSHIP WITH SISTERWEB IS A CRUCIAL CONNECTION TO BAYVIEW S.O.L'S VISION TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY.TODAY, BAYVIEW S.O.L. IS LOOKING AHEAD AT THE MISSION OF BUILDING A BIRTH CENTER. WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING WITH AN ARCHITECT TO CREATE RENDERINGS TO PRESENT THE VISION OF AN ACCESSIBLE AND SUPPORTIVE SPACE FOR FAMILIES OF COLOR TO THRIVE.
