TO PROVIDE RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT IN A DIGNIFIED MANNER TO DISTRESSED FAMILIES IN ALBANIA, AND TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS WHOSE LIVES AND LIVELIHOODS ARE DEVASTATED BY POVERTY AND DISASTER TO SURVIVE, RECOVER AND GAIN CONTROL OF THEIR FUTURE.

RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT AFTER THE NOVEMBER 2019 EARTHQUAKE IN ALBANIA - IN 2020, THE BOARD APPROVED A GRANT FOR FONDACIONI FIRDEUS IN ALBANIA IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,851,000, TO "BUILD NEW HOUSING UNITS FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES WHOSE HOMES WERE DESTROYED BY THE EARTHQUAKE OF NOVEMBER 26, 2019 IN ALBANIA. THE PROJECT WILL BE IMPLEMENTED AND CARRIED OUT IN COOPERATION WITH THE ALBANIAN GOVERNMENT." IN DECEMBER 2020, WE SENT THE FIRST GRANT PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,451,000. IN MARCH 2021, WE SENT THE SECOND INSTALLMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,302,000 AND IN OCTOBER 2021, WE SENT THE THIRD INSTALLMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $907,450. THE NEW HOUSING UNITS ARE PLANNED TO BE FINISHED BY SUMMER 2022 AND DELIVERED WITHIN THE SAME PERIOD TO FAMILIES WHOSE HOMES WERE DESTROYED BY THE EARTHQUAKE OF 2019. THE LAST INSTALLMENT OF $190,000 WILL BE WIRED IN 2022 UPON RECEIPT OF THE FINAL GRANT REPORT BY FONDACIONI FIRDEUS.
