BRINGING SCHOOL HOME:BRINGING SCHOOL HOME EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM, SUPPORTED BY PITON FOUNDATION AND GARY COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS, SUPPORTED 19 FAMILIES WITH AT LEAST ONE CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 6 TO OBTAIN STABLE, AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND EDUCATION SUPPORT SERVICES AT 4 DIFFERENT HOUSING COMMUNITIES. THESE 19 FAMILIES ALONG WITH OTHERS RESIDING IN THE FOUR PROPERTIES PARTICIPATED IN PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS, PARENTING CLASSES, AND CONNECTIONS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION. 100% OF THREE AND FOUR-YEAR-OLDS WERE ENROLLED IN PRESCHOOL.
FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES:FAMILY SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, WITH SUPPORT FROM VARIOUS GRANTS AND DONATIONS, PROVIDED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES BENEFITING FAMILIES LIVING IN HIGHLY AFFORDABLE HOUSING, WITH A FOCUS ON HOUSING STABILITY, ECONOMIC STABILITY, EDUCATION, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, AND COMMUNITY LIFE. PROVIDED SUMMER EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR 123 CHILDREN. PROVIDED COLLEGE AND CAREER PLANNING TO 90 YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES.
