THE JOURNALISM AND WOMEN SYMPOSIUM (JAWS) SUPPORTS THE PROFESSIONAL EMPOWERMENT AND PERSONAL GROWTH OF WOMEN IN JOURNALISM AND WORKS TOWARD A MORE ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF THE WHOLE SOCIETY. PRODUCED THE FIRST ONLINE CONFERENCE WITH MORE THAN 200 ATTENDEES AND RECORD NUMBER OF SPONSORS.ESTABLISHED THE "ALICE" GRANT TO SUPPORT WOMEN JOURNALISTS IN SMALL MARKETS AND/OR WHO COVER UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. FORMED NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH INDUSTRY AND COLLEGIATE GROUPS.
