TO PRESERVE AND PROMOTE THE HISTORY AND MEMORABILIA OF GUNNISON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY OF THE ORGANIZATION IS THE PIONEER MUSEUM, STAFFED EXCLUSIVELY BY VOLUNTEERS.

THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS THE OPERATION OF THE PIONEER MUSEUM. THE MUSEUM IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FROM JUST PRIOR TO MEMORIAL DAY THROUGH THE END OF SEPTEMBER. DURING THIS TIME WE HAD MORE THAT 5,000 VISITORS ATTEND THE MUSEUM INCLUDING SCHOOL CHILDERN AND SENIORS INTERESTED IN VIEWING HISTORICAL ITEMS. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED TOTALLY BY THE USE OF VOLUNTEERS TO CONDUCT THE OPERATION.
