EXTEND CONVERSATIONS ABOUT PUBLIC EDUCATION INTO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH LOCAL VOLUNTEERS, INCLUDING COLLABORATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS SUCH AS SCHOOL BOARDS, EDUCATION ASSOCIATIONS, SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENTS, TEACHERS, PARENTS, STUDENTS, LOCAL AND STATEWIDE ASSOCIATIONS, AND OTHER GROUPS. OUTREACH ALSO INCLUDES ORGANIZATIONS IN OTHER STATES WORKING TO SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION, AND NATIONWIDE ORGANIZATIONS MONITORING AND RESEARCHING PRIVATIZATION. FOSTERING CITIZEN PARTICIPATION IN A STATEWIDE CONVERSATION ABOUT OUR STUDENTS, OUR EDUCATORS, OUR SCHOOLS, AND OUR STATE BUILDS A STRONGER ARIZONA WITH INCREASED ENGAGEMENT IN THE IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC EDUCATION.(CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)TEAMS OF PUBLIC EDUCATION SUPPORTERS IN NORTHERN, CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ARIZONA EXTEND OUTREACH IN THEIR COMMUNITIES BY INITIATING DIALOG AND EXCHANGING INFORMATION OF INTEREST TO LOCAL RESIDENTS. DEVELOP AND DELIVER WEBINARS, WORKSHOPS, FORUMS, DISCUSSIONS, AND PRESENTATIONS THAT INFORM A WIDE VARIETY OF AUDIENCES ABOUT THE CONDITIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION THROUGHOUT ARIZONA. DURING 2021, SOSAZN HAS ORGANIZED AND DELIVERED 21 ONLINE EDUCATION FORUMS FEATURING NATIONALLY PROMINENT SPEAKERS AND REACHING THOUSANDS OF VIEWERS AROUND ARIZONA. THE SOSAZN NATIVE OUTREACH COORDINATOR HOSTED 10 INDIGENOUS PERSPECTIVES ONLINE DISCUSSIONS ON EDUCATION TOPICS OF INTEREST TO THE NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITY. SOSAZN'S BLOG GREW WITH 17 ADDITIONAL ENTRIES, RESEARCHING SUCH ISSUES AS THE EFFECTS OF POVERTY ON SCHOOLING AND THE IMPACT OF INSUFFICIENT FUNDING ON RURAL DISTRICTS.
DEVELOP, AGGREGATE, ORGANIZE, AND DISSEMINATE RESEARCH, RESOURCES, AND INFORMATION RELATIVE TO PUBLIC EDUCATION IN ARIZONA. THE NETWORK FOCUSES ON UNDER-RESOURCED COMMUNITIES AND HAS BECOME A STATEWIDE AUTHORITY ON WAYS THAT FUNDING IS DRAINED FROM PUBLIC EDUCATION BUDGETS, AND HOW STRUCTURAL INEQUITIES IN FUNDING FORMULAS DISADVANTAGE POOR, IMMIGRANT, NATIVE AMERICAN, AND RURAL COMMUNITIES. OUR RESEARCH HAS INCLUDED DETAILED, NONPARTISAN INFORMATION ABOUT HOW SCHOOL FUNDING FORMULAS DISADVANTAGE RURAL DISTRICTS, HOW THE LEGISLATURE HAS PRESSURED NATIVE AMERICAN LAWMAKERS TO VOTE AGAINST THEIR INTERESTS, WHAT A "FULLY FUNDED" SCHOOL LOOKS LIKE, AND HOW THE EDUCATION PLAYING FIELD IN ARIZONA IS DEEPLY INEQUITABLE.
