FREE COLLEGE ADVOCACY:RISE, INC. RECRUITED AND TRAINED STUDENTS TO LEAD STATE-WIDE CAMPAIGNS ADVOCATING FOR THE EXPANSION OF EXISTING FREE COLLEGE PROGRAMS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDED SHARING STUDENT STORIES, COLLECTING PETITION SIGNATURES, AND MEETING WITH LAWMAKERS IN VARIOUS STATE CAPITOLS.


STUDENT CIVIC PARTICIPATION:IN 2022, RISE, INC. CONTINUED GROWING ITS STUDENT CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM BY MOBILIZING STUDENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO THE POLLS TO BUILD POLITICAL POWER. RISE ALSO EXPANDED ITS BLACK THE VOTE PROGRAM - A TRAINING PROGRAM AND PATHWAY FOR BLACK COLLEGE STUDENTS TO EMBRACE THEIR POWER AND LEAD TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE ON THEIR CAMPUSES AND IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. RISE RECRUITED AN ADDITIONAL 1,000 BLACK STUDENTS WHO LEARNED HOW TO FIGHT VOTER SUPPRESSION AND MOBILIZE THEIR PEERS TO THE POLLS.


DIRECT STUDENT SUPPORT:RISE, INC. INVESTED IN THE STUDENT NAVIGATOR NETWORK, A PEER-TO-PEER CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, AND ESTABLISHED STUDENT NAVIGATOR NETWORKS ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. RISE BUILT PARTNERSHIPS WITH HIGHER EDUCATION ADMINISTRATORS TO DEVELOP THE TRUST AND SUPPORT NEEDED TO WORK WITH RISE TO INSTITUTIONALIZE THIS WORK, ULTIMATELY HIRING AND TRAINING STUDENT NAVIGATORS TO CONNECT PEERS EXPERIENCING BASIC NEEDS INSECURITY WITH LOCAL RESOURCES AND PUBLIC BENEFITS ON THEIR OWN CAMPUSES.
