NGPF MISSION 2030 FUND SPRANG INTO ACTION IN 2021 WITH A GOAL OF ADVOCATING IN STATE LEGISLATURES TO GUARANTEE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THAT STATE WOULD RECEIVE A ONE-SEMESTER COURSE IN PERSONAL FINANCE. 2023 WAS A RECORD YEAR WITH 8 STATES PASSING LEGISLATION THAT MET OUR "GOLD STANDARD" OF A ONE SEMESTER, STANDALONE COURSE IN PERSONAL FINANCE REQUIRED FOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION. IN EACH OF THESE EIGHT STATES, WE INVESTED IN ADVOCACY EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL. THE EIGHT STATES WERE: WISCONSIN, PENNSYLVANIA, WEST VIRGINIA, INDIANA, LOUISIANA, CONNECTICUT, MINNESOTA, AND OREGON. AS OF DECEMBER 2023, 26 STATES COMPRISING 64% OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE NOW GUARANTEED TO TAKE A COURSE IN PERSONAL FINANCE.
