PRODUCED A FREE, LIVE PERFORMANCE OF A PLAY WITH PURPOSE THAT EDUCATES OLDER ADULTS ON SCAMS THAT TARGET THEM BY PHONE AND EMPOWERS THEM WITH SIMPLE TOOLS TO PREVENT FINANCIAL LOSS. BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE SAGES DIRECTOR AND ACTORS LEARNED TO USE ZOOM FOR REHEARSALS. THE SHOW WAS STAGED IN SEPTEMBER. AFTERWARDS, AUDIENCE MEMBERS SPOKE UP ON SCAMS THAT PERSONALLY VICTIMIZED THEM. TO ACHIEVE THESE REVELATIONS WAS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT. THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION REPORTS THE LARGEST GROUP TO AVOID REPORTING SCAMS IS OLDER ADULTS. OUR PLAY VALIDATED THAT SCAMS DONT HAPPEN BECAUSE THE VICTIM IS STUPID. SCAMMERS ARE ACTORS. SAGES USE OF THEATER TO ARM THE AUDIENCE WITH EDUCATION IS FIGHTING FIRE WITH FIRE. OUR CAST OF OLDER ACTORS IS DETERMINED TO STOP SCAMS THAT TARGET OUR VULNERABLE ELDERLY POPULATION. PRODUCED A SAFE-AT-HOME DVD KIT, FREE TO SITES COVERED BY GRANTS. THE KIT INCLUDES A FILM OF A LIVE PLAY WITH PURPOSE THAT MOTIVATES OLDER ADULTS TO REDUCE THEIR RISK FOR FALLS.
