THE CENTER OPERATES AND MAINTAINS THE OLD LAUREL SCHOOL IN ORDER TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATION, COMMUNITY INTERACTION, THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND GATHERING OF RESOURCES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. DURING THE YEAR THE CENTER PROVIDED SPACE FOR THE SENIOR MEAL SITE OPERATED BY MADISON COUNTY, STUDIO SPACE FOR ARTISTS, A COMPUTER LAB MAKING INTERNET CONNECTIONS AVAILABLE TO THOSE IN NEED AND MADE SPACE AVAILABLE FOR RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, LECTURES, MEETINGS AND THEMED WORKSHOPS AS WELL AS EVENT SPACE. PRIOR TO COVID, SEVERAL COMMUNITY EVENTS WERE HELD.
