CONVERGENCE IS A 7-DAY BIENNIAL FIBER ART CONFERENCE PRESENTED IN EVEN YEARS WITH A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF THE PLANNING OCCURRING DURING ODD YEARS. THE CONFERENCE ATTRACTS MORE THAN 1,500 PARTICIPANTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD FOR A MULTI-FACETED EXPERIENCE WITH EXHIBITIONS, VENDORS, FASHION SHOW, TOURS,WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, LECTURES, AND MORE. AT THE HEART OF CONVERGENCE IS THE SESSIONS, TAUGHT BY THE WORLD'S LEADING FIBER ARTS INSTRUCTORS AS WELL AS THOSE THAT ARE UP-AND-COMING IN THE FIELD, KNOWN AS CONVERGENCE LEADERS. THE CONFERENCE INCLUDES 4 JURIED AND 2 INVITATIONAL EXHIBITS.

"SHUTTLE SPINDLE & DYEPOT" HGA'S MEMBERSHIP MAGAZINE PROVIDES INSPIRING, HISTORICAL, CULTURAL, AND EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION TO HGA MEMBERS THROUGH ARTICLES FEATURING FIBER ARTISTS' PROFILES; MUSEUM AND GALLERY EXHIBITIONS; ETHNIC, TRADITIONAL, AND INNOVATIVE FIBER ART AND/OR TEXTILE TECHNIQUES; APPROXIMATELY 4,000 COPIES OF THE MAGAZINE ARE PUBLISHED QUARTERLY AND WE CONTINUE TO SEE AN INCREASE IN REQUESTS FOR ACCESS TO DIGITAL COPIES.


HGA CONTINUES TO EXPAND ITS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING. THIS INCLUDES VIRTUAL PROGRAMS SUCH AS TEXTILES & TEA, GUILD DEVELOPMENT RETREAT, CAREERS IN TEXTILES SYMPOSIUM, SPINNING & WEAVING WEEK CELEBRATION, AND JURORS' TALKS. THESE PROGRAMS HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON OUR OUTREACH TO THE FIBER ART COMMUNITY, INCLUDING OUR DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION INITIATIVES.
