90% OF OUR SCHOLARS SECURED FULL TIME JOBS WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF GRADUATION; 92% OF OUR SCHOLARS SECURED PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIPS; 94% OF OUR SCHOLARS GRADUATED COLLEGE WITHIN 4.5 YEARS, 98% OF OUR SCHOLARS BECAME "CAREER READY" - BUILDING CORE SOFT SKILL COMPETENCIES AND 92% INCREASED THEIR SOCIAL CAPITAL AND ADDED 20+ PROFESSIONALS TO THEIR NETWORKS.
CAREER ACCELERATOR FOR FIRST GENERATION: THE CAREER ACCELERATOR FOR FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS LAUNCHED IN JANUARY 2021 AND WAS GENEROUSLY FUNDED BY THE RIC AND SUZANNE KAYNE FOUNDATION. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES ALL OF THE COMPONENTS OF THE CAREER ACCELERATOR PROGRAM FOR FOSTER YOUTH WITH THE ADDITION OF DESIGNATED SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS AND A LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM. THE PARTICIPANTS OF THIS PROGRAM ARE ALL REQUIRED TO ATTEND CAL STATE AND UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS AND BE PURSUING CAREERS IN BUSINESS OR STEM RELATED INDUSTRIES.
THE YAC SCHOLARS (YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL): ARE A GROUP OF COLLEGE STUDENTS AND RECENT COLLEGE GRADUATES SELECTED BY THE SNAP FOUNDATION WHO ARE PURSUING CAREERS IN THE CREATIVE ECONOMY. THE RTS/YAC PROGRAM PROVIDES THE YAC MEMBERS WITH PERSONALIZED CAREER COACHING, ACCESS TO THE RTS NETWORK OF PROFESSIONALS, INDUSTRY FOCUSED WORKSHOPS AND JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE. YAC SCHOLARS PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM FOR ONE YEAR AND GAIN THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES THEY NEED TO BEGIN OR CONTINUE THEIR CAREER JOURNEYS IN CREATIVE FIELDS.
CAREER ACCELERATOR FOR FOSTER YOUTH: AN INTENSIVE MENTORSHIP, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO HELP COLLEGE-GOING FOSTER YOUTH COMPLETE COLLEGE AND ESTABLISH THEMSELVES IN THE WORKFORCE. OUR UNIQUE APPROACH PROVIDES 1:1 MENTORSHIP, PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING, INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT, SOCIAL AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS, AND A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY OF PEERS. THIS INTEGRATED APPROACH ULTIMATELY RESULTS IN YOUTH PERSISTING IN AND GRADUATING FROM COLLEGE, AND SECURING CAREER TRACK JOBS, AND TAKING LEADERSHIP ROLES IN THEIR COMMUNITY.
PROJECT DORM ROOM: PROVIDES DORM ROOM PROVIDED DORM ROOM ESSENTIALS TO 90 FOSTER YOUTH - INCOMING FRESHMEN AND TRANSFER STUDENTS - ATTENDING UCLA AND CAL STATE LONG BEACH. STUDENTS RECEIVED SUPPLIES AND GIFT CARDS TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL ITEMS WORTH OVER $500 TO ENSURE THEY HAD EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED TO BEGIN THEIR COLLEGE JOURNEY FEELING SUPPORTED AND CARED FOR.
