HURRICANE IDA MADE LANDFALL IN THE BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SERVICE AREA, CAUSING MASSIVE DESTRUCTION IN LAFOURCHE PARISH, TERREBONNE PARISH, AND GRANDE ISLE. BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ACTIVATED ITS BAYOU RECOVERY FUND FOR HURRICANE IDA RELIEF ON AUGUST 27 AND FUNDED GRANTS TO LOCAL NONPROFITS PROVIDED CRITICAL RELIEF AND RECOVERY SERVICES TO RESIDENTS IN NEED.
BAYOU COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDED GRANTS TO 30 NONPROFITS WORKING IN LAFOURCHE, TERREBONNE, AND GRAND ISLE AS PART OF THE FOUNDATION'S 2021 ANNUAL NONPROFIT GRANTS PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HELPS TO FILL UNMET NEEDS IN THE COMMUNITY RELATED TO HUMAN SERVICES, EDUCATION, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, AND COASTAL ISSUES.
