THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WORK OF THE CHAMBER PROVIDES PROGRAMS FOR OUR APPROXIMATELY 1,656 MEMBER BUSINESSES WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO HELP BUSINESSES GROW AND THRIVE, AND TO PROVIDE A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR INDUSTRY SECTORS AND TO EXPAND THEIR EFFORTS IN THE GREATER SAN ANTONIO REGION. PROGRAMS INCLUDE RECRUITING AND RETAINING MEMBERS FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND EVENTS,INDUSTRY DISCUSSIONS, NEWS AND INFORMATION, EDUCATIONAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THAT HELP MEMBERS LEARN HOW INDUSTRIES AND BUSINESSES ARE EXPANDING AND HOW AN ORGANIZATION CAN UTILIZE RESOURCES TO GROW THEIR ORGANIZATIONS.
THE ADVOCACY WORK OF THE CHAMBER FOCUSES ON BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS AT THE LOCAL, COUNTY, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVELS, AS WELL AS BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH ORGANIZATIONS THAT RELATE TO THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS WHO ARE FOCUSED ON PRO-BUSINESS ADVOCACY. THE RELATIONSHIPS ARE BUILT THROUGH ADVOCACY EVENTS, ISSUE SPECIFIC GROUPS AND COMMITTEE WORK, TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE REGION, TO AUSTIN, TX AND WASHINGTON DC, ONE ON ONE MEETINGS WITH LEGISLATORS FOR CHAMBER LEADERSHIP AND MEMBERS, PRO-BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, AND COORDINATING ONGOING PRESENTATIONS AND MEETING WITH LEGISLATORS FOR CHAMBER MEMBERS AND THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY.
