THE MISSION OF THE IDAHO MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION, INC. IS TO ADVANCE AND ADVOCATE FOR STANDARDS BASED MUSIC EDUCATION IN ALL IDAHO SCHOOLS, TO FOSTER PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF MUSIC EDUCATORS, AND TO ENCOURAGE AND ENHANCE MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

THE IMEA ACCOMPLISHES ITS MISSION BY PRODUCING AN ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL STATE SOLO CONTEST FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY THROUGH THEIR DISTRICT SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTESTS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PRODUCES TWO OTHER ANNUAL EVENTS. AT THE ALL-STATE EVENT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AUDITION FOR ONE OF FOUR HONOR GROUPS: ALL-STATE BAND, ALL-STATE ORCHESTRA, ALL-STATE TREBLE CHOIR AND ALL-STATE MIXED CHOIR. AT THE IN-SERVICE EVENT, MUSIC EDUCATORS ATTEND 3 DAYS OF EDUCATIONAL IN-SERVICE TRAINING. THE IMEA ALSO PRODUCES A PUBLICATION USED TO EDUCATE AND INFORM ITS MEMBERS.
