TO EMPOWER EDUCATORS, STUDENTS, AND THE NORTHEAST DENVER COMMUNITY THROUGH LEADERSHIP, EXCELLENT EDUCATION, AND FLEXIBLE, SCHOOL-BASED DECISION- MAKING.

LIKE SCHOOLS WORLD-WIDE, NDIZ SPENT THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR BATTLING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. EVEN THOUGH THE MAIN FOCUS WAS ON SUPPORTING STUDENTS AND TEACHERS AS THEY MOVED BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL LEARNING, NDIZ HAD SEVERAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS. AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH WAS COMPLETED AND A NEW ED WAS ONBOARDED. IN ADDITION, ONE PART TIME STAFF MEMBER TRANSITIONED TO WORK WITH ANOTHER ZONE FULL TIME. NDIZ FORMED A TEACHERS' COUNCIL AND MET 7 TIMES, AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS CONVENED 11 TIMES. THE ZONE FUNDRAISED AND RECEIVED A BROAD CENTER AND ROOTED GRANT, AND FEES WERE SUCCESSFULLY COLLECTED FROM ALL SCHOOLS IN JANUARY 2021. FINALLY, NDIZ HIRED A NEW ACCOUNTANT AND TRANSITIONED BANKING OPERATIONS FROM BANK OF AMERICA TO FIRST BANK.
