RESEARCH, GRANT FUNDING & EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES: FUNDING IS PROVIDED FOR RESEARCH WITH THE POTENTIAL TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE FINANCIAL EDUCATION FIELD AND SEEKS TO IMPROVE THE PUBLIC'S FINANCIAL WELL-BEING. NEFE HAS FIVE RESEARCH STUDIES ONGOING AND HAS FUNDED 37 RESEARCH PROJECTS SINCE 2006. NEFE DOES NOT FUND PROJECTS THAT HAVE COMMERCIAL OR PROPRIETARY ELEMENTS OR ARE RELATED TO THE PILOT, DEVELOPMENT, EXECUTION, EVALUATION, EXPANSION OR ADMINISTRATION OF SPECIFIC PROGRAMS, COURSES OR CURRICULA. IN 2021, NEFE RETIRED THE HIGH SCHOOL FINANCIAL PLANNING PROGRAM AND SMART ABOUT MONEY, AND TRANSFERRED OWNERSHIP OF CASHCOURSE TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCIAL WELLNESS ALLIANCE. FOR TWO YEARS, NEFE WILL REMAIN A CONSULTANT AND PROVIDE GRANT FUNDING TOTALING $334,000 FOR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS TO MAINTAIN THE PLATFORM.
AWARENESS, PARTNERSHIPS & POLICY DISCUSSION CONVENINGS: NEFE PARTNERS WITH MISSION-ALIGNED ORGANIZATIONS FOR JOINT EFFORTS TO SHAPE, DELIVER AND PROMOTE PROGRAMS, INITIATIVES AND RESEARCH. OUR PARTNERSHIPS SPAN SOCIAL SERVICES, EDUCATION AND MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2021, NEFE HAD NEARLY 40 ACTIVE PARTNERSHIPS, SPONSORED AND PARTICIPATED IN CONFERENCES, ADVISED ON INITIATIVES FOR LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS AND WAS AN EXPERT COMMENTATOR IN A DOCUMENTARY. NEFE AND THE COUNCIL FOR ECONOMIC EDUCATION HOSTED FIVE FINANCIAL EDUCATION POLICY CONVENINGS WITH STAKEHOLDERS FROM 44 STATES AND PROVIDED AN OPEN FORUM TO LEARN AND LISTEN ABOUT MANY AREAS OF STATEWIDE FINANCIAL EDUCATION POLICY AND PROGRAMMING. NEFE THEN DISSEMINATED INFORMATION FROM THESE CONVENINGS IN THE FORM OF SUMMARIES, MEDIA CONTENT, PRESENTATIONS AND PODCAST EPISODES (TO CONTINUE INTO 2022).
