GOLF BREVARD INC. WAS SPECIFICALLY FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF LESSENING THE BURDEN OF GOVERNMENT FOR BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, WITH REGARD TO THE OPERATION, MAINTAINING, AND IMPROVING ITS PUBLIC GOLF COURSES - SPESSARD HOLLAND AND THE HABITAT.

BY CONTRACT WITH THE COUNTY, PARKS AND RECREATION MANAGER (PRM) IS A NON-VOTING MEMBER OF THE BOARD AND ATTENDS ALL MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS. THE PRM CONDUCTS AND DOCUMENTS ON SIGHT OPERATIONAL REVIEWS QUARTERLY. REVIEWS ARE SHARED WITH THE BOARD AND DOCUMENT THAT GOLF BREVARD OPERATES AND MAINTAINS THE GOLF COURSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH FIRST-CLASS STANDARDS. THE GOLF COURSES' PHYSICAL CONDITIONS CONTINUE TO IMPROVE. EXCESS REVENUE IS REINVESTED IN COURSE MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO BE SELF-SUFFICIENT . TOTAL GOLF ROUNDS PLAYED DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR WAS 101,822, AN INCREASE OF 10.1% FROM THE PRIOR YEAR AND A 37.5% INCREASE FROM THE FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION. THE GENERAL PUBLIC HAS BENEFITED FROM THE PROPER MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT TO THE GOLF COURSES AS SHOWN BY INCREASED ROUNDS PLAYED PER YEAR. THE GOVERNMENT OF BREVARD COUNTY CONTINUES TO BENEFIT FROM BEING RELIEVED OF THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF OPERATING THE GOLF COURSES AND ALLOCATING SAVINGS TO OTHER GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS.
