IN ADDITION TO THE ONGOING MANAGEMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION WORK PROGRAM GWMA ADDED THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES FOR 2021: WE BEGAN INITIAL MEETINGS AND PLANNING FOR A POTENTIAL SPECIAL PURPOSE LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX (SPLOST) RENEWAL REFERENDUM TO BEGIN IN APRIL 2023. PLANNING INCLUDES CITY POPULATION ESTIMATES, FORECASTING POSSIBLE REVENUE, IDENTIFYING SPLOST PROJECTS AND TIMELINES FOR SPLOST MEETINGS WITH THE GWINNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS STAFF REPRESENTATIVES. CONTINUED COORDINATION FOR GWINNETT CITIES' DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENTS FOR TITLE AD VALOREM TAX (TAVT) AND EMERGENCY EXCISE TAX PURPOSES BY PROVIDING OFFICIAL CERTIFICATION TO THE STATE OF GEORGIA THAT THE 16 CITIES CONTINUE THE TAVT COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION AMOUNTS BASED ON THE 2013 AGREEMENT USING CITY POPULATION ESTIMATES FROM THE ATLANTA REGIONAL COMMISSION. SCHEDULED AND FACILITATED WEEKLY AND BI-WEEKLY COVID 19 CONFERENCE CALLS WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE GWINNETT NEWTON ROCKDALE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. PARTICIPATED IN THE GWINNETT COUNTY TRANSIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHARGED WITH THE STUDY AND ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATION OF TRANSIT OPTIONS THROUGH THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2021 FOR THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONER'S REVIEW. CONDUCTED LEGISLATIVE VISITS, SUPPORT OF GEORGIA MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION'S LEGISLATIVE POLICY COMMITTEE AND SCHEDULED NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES DURING THE 2021 GENERAL ASSEMBLY. GWMA COORDINATED SESSIONS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GEORGIA MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION BY SUPPORTING THE JANUARY "CITIES UNITED SUMMIT- AND "HOMETOWN CONNECTION" VISITS SCHEDULED BY MEMBER CITIES.
