TWO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION ACADEMIES ARE SPONSORED EACH YEAR - ONE IN THE FALL AND ONE IN THE SUMMER - AFFORDING CITY CLERKS IN FLORIDA THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THE DESIGNATION OF CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL CLERK AND MASTER MUNICIPAL CLERK. THESE ACADEMIES OFFER THE ATTENDEES A CHANCE TO EXPLORE COMMON FORUMS AND NETWORK. TOPICS THIS YEAR FOR THE FALL ACADEMY INCLUDED STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT, MUNICIPAL CLERK 101, CULTURAL COMPETENCY, ETHICS, WORKING WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS, ELECTION BASICS, AND PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS.TOPICS THIS YEAR FOR THE SUMMER ACADEMY INCLUDED DEALING WITH CHANGE, LEADERSHIP, MUNICIPAL CODIFICATION, ADVANCED ELECTIONS, WORKING WITH MUNICIPAL BOARDS AND COMMITTEES, WORKPLACE COMMUNICATION, RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS, ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER FOR MUNICIPAL COUNCILS AND WORKING WITH THE LOCAL MEDIA.
