FAMILY PROMISE OF MARTIN COUNTY PROVIDES SHELTER, TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE, HOSPITALITY, TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND CASE MANAGEMENT FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN EXPERIENCING AND AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS. ONGOING SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO EMPOWER WORKING FAMILIES TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE INDEPENDENCE.

FAMILY PROMISE OF MARTIN COUNTY INC. PROVIDES SHELTER, MEALS, AND COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN EXPERIENCING AND AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS. THE ORGANIZATION COORDINATES WITH 8 LOCAL CHURCHES THROUGHOUT MARTIN COUNTY TO PROVIDE SHELTER SERVICES, PROVIDING TEMPORARY HOUSING AT EACH CHURCH CONGERGATION'S SITE. FAMILIES IN THE PROGRAM ROTATE BETWEEN THE CHURCHES EVERY TWO WEEKS. OUR CASE MANAGEMENT STAFF ALSO ASSISTS FAMILIES TO MAINTAIN THEIR HOMES THROUGH PREVENTION AND STABILIZATION PROGRAMS. OUR CASE MANAGEMENT STAFF ALSO ASSISTS FAMILIES WITH DIVERSION ALTERNATIVES TO FIND LODGING WITH FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, OR LODGING AT LOCAL HOTELS AND MOTELS. DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 2023, OUR ORGANIZATION HAS ASSISTED 280 FAMILIES AND 500 CHILDREN WITH SHELTER/PREVENTION/DIVERSION PROGRAMS AS WELL AS MEALS AND OTHER COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION EXPANDED ITS ALMOST HOME TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FROM ONE HOME TO FIVE HOMES, ACQUIRING A MASTER LEASE OF 4 NEW APARTMENT UNITS. THE BUILD OF A TINY COTTAGE WAS COMPLETED WITH TWO MORE IN PROCESS AND SECURED AGREEMENTS WITH CHURCHES TO HOUSE THE TINY COTTAGES. A PILOT PROGRAM "OPEN TABLE" WAS STARTED CREATING A FAMILY OF MENTORS FOR SHELTER FAMILIES. FOR THE 2023 YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 2,183 BED NIGHTS / 4,125 MEALS / 7,450 VOLUNTEER HOURS OF SERVICE / 65% OF OUR FAMILIES SECURED PERMANENT HOUSING OF THEIR OWN.
