TO REPRESENT DERMATOLOGY PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS AND NURSE PRACTITIONERS IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA BY SERVING AS A COLLECTIVE VOICE TO HELP BUILD, STRENGTHEN, AND MAINTAIN THE PHYSICIAN-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/PHYSICIAN-NURSE PRACTITIONERS RELATIONSHIP, AS WELL AS RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN THE ENTIRE DERMATOLOGY COMMUNITY, ENCOURAGE PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BY SERVING AS A CENTRAL RESOURCE FOR ALL CURRENTLY PRACTICING DERMATOLOGY PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS AND NURSE PRACTICTIONERS, AS WELL AS PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS AND NURSE PRACTICITIONERS WITH AN INTEREST IN THE MEDICAL SPECIALTY OF DERMATOLOGY, AND SUPPORT EFFORTS THAT HELP ALABAMA'S PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS AND NURSE PRACTICTIONERS IMPROVE ACCESS AND QUALITY OF CARE IN THE SPECIALTY OF DERMATOLOGY.

A CONTINUING EDUCATION MEETING WAS HELD AT THE GRAND HOTEL ON AUGUST 25-28, 2022. ITS PURPOSE WAS TO PROVIDE UP-TO-DATE DERMATOLOGY EDUCATION FOR NURSE PRACTITIONERS AND PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS WORKING OR INTERESTED IN DERMATOLOGY. FIFTEEN CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS WERE PROVIDED. APPROXIMATELY 150 PARTICIPANTS WERE IN ATTENDANCE.
THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS ONLINE FORUMS AS WELL AS A WEBSITE TO PROVIDE NETWORKING AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, FACILITATE PEER-TO-PEER DISCUSSION OF DIFFICULT DERMATOLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND UPDATE MEMBERS ABOUT EDUCATIONAL EVENTS SPECIFIC TO THE FIELD OF DERMATOLOGY.
