KINWELL ACADEMY, INC. PROVIDES AN ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS WHERE PUBLIC SCHOOL DID NOT WORK FOR THEM. IT FOCUSES ON HOLISTIC EDUCATION THAT TARGETS EACH STUDENT'S EMOTIONAL AND ACADEMIC NEEDS.

KINWELL ACADEMY, INC. SERVICED 40 STUDENTS WHO WERE STRUGGLING IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN GRANT COUNTY, INDIANA. DURING THE YEAR, DR. KEITH PUFFER AND A GROUP OF INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS STUDIED THE STUDENTS AND EVALUATED SOME OF THE TRAUMA WHICH HAD GREATLY INFLUENCED THE STUDENTS' ABILITY TO LEARN. AS A RESULT, STUDENTS WERE GIVEN OPPORTUNITIES TO ENJOY MUSIC AND ART THERAPY CLASSES. THE SCHOOL AVERAGED 8.6 CREDITS PER STUDENT, WHICH LED TO THREE STUDENTS GRADUATING AND MOVING ON TO THEIR ADULT ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. TWO OF THE GRADUATES ARE PURSUING HIGHER EDUCATION AND THE OTHER IS WORKING FULL TIME.
