OPERATION OF A THERAPEUTIC DAY SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS WITH AUTISM AND RELATED DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO ENHANCE ACADEMIC, LANGUAGE, SENSORY, MOTOR, AND SOCIAL SKILLS OF IT STUDENTS WITH A GOAL OF ENABLING THEM TO MAXIMIZE THEIR INDIVIDUAL POTENTIAL AND LEAD PRODUCTIVE AND INDEPENDENT LIVES. THE SCHOOL YEAR CONSISTS OF TWO SEMESTERS AND A SUMMER PROGRAM. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 160 STUDENTS ENROLLED AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
ANCILLARY PROGRAMS CONSIST OF A REC CENTER FOR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AFTER REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS, ON HOLIDAYS, AND DURING VACATIONS. B THERAPY PROGRAM FOR ADDITIONAL THERAPEUTIC SERVICES OFFERED AFTER REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS, WHICH ARE OPEN TO BOTH GIANT STEPS AND NON GIANT STEPS CLIENTS. C AUTISM TRAINING CENTER WHICH PROVIDES DEVELOPMENT FOR EDUCATORS, FIRST RESPONDERS, AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS. ALL OF THESE SERVICES ARE FUNDED THROUGH PRIVATE PAY OR PRIVATE INSURANCE.
CANOPY - ADULT SERVICES FOR CLIENTS OVER 21 YEAR OLD. THIS SERVICE IS FUNDED THROUGH PRIVATE PAY OR PRIVATE INSURANCE.
