THE DD-PBRN PROVIDED INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SELF-ADVOCATES FAMILY AND PROFESSIONAL CAREGIVERS CLINICIANS DISABILITY SERVICES PROVIDERS AND POLICY MAKERS TO ENGAGE IN SCHOLARSHIP AND CONNECT TO RESOURCES RELEVANT TO PROMOTING THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF PEOPLE WITH IDD THROUGH MONTHLY MEETINGS AND REGULAR COMMUNICATION AMONG MEMBERS.THROUGH MONTHLY MEETINGS WE CONTINUED OUR WORK PROVIDING TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO TWO GRANT-FUNDED PROJECTS: THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL -FUNDED NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM INITIATIVE IN DEVELOPMENTAL MEDICINE AND A CLEVELAND CLINIC-FUNDED CAREGIVER CATALYST AWARD BRIDGES TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH CARE OF PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES".
THROUGH ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR OUR MULTIDISCIPLINARY GROUP WE CONDUCTED SYSTEMATIC INQUIRIES INTO TOPICS INCLUDING BENEFITS AND DRAWBACKS OF TELEMEDICINE FOR PATIENTS WITH IDD AND ACCESSIBILITY OF AMBULATORY HEALTH CARE FACILITIES AND WE DISSEMINATED OUR FINDINGS TO A WIDER NATIONAL AUDIENCE THROUGH SCHOLARSHIP. WE ALSO PROVIDED A FORUM FOR MEDICAL STUDENTS AND FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENTS TO LEARN ABOUT PROVIDING OPTIMAL CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH IDD BY PARTICIPATING IN NETWORK ACTIVITIES.
